In Times of Personal Distress
Lord Christ, you came into the world as one of us, and suffered as we do. As I go through the trials of life, help me to realize that you are with me at all times and in all things; that I have no secrets from you; and that your loving grace enfolds me for eternity. In the security of your embrace I pray. Amen.

For a Family’s Finances
God of Providence, You possess all the resources of heaven and earth. You created them all, and by Your active hand, they are upheld. Please, God, if it be Your will, grant my family with the resources we need to pay our bills and maintain stable finances. Help us to be fruitful with our earning, wise with our spending, and generous with our giving. Grant us the heart to honor You with every dollar that You allow to pass through our hands. Amen.

For a Family’s Provision of Food
Blessed Creator, You teach us in Your Word that Your children have no need to be anxious because You know all of our needs even before we ask You. We know that there is no reason for us to worry about what we will eat tomorrow. Yet, You tell us that it is a righteous thing for us to ask You to provide. God, we now ask You to supply our needs according to Your limitless resources. Please grant us enough food to eat and help us to be thankful for every bit. We praise You for Your generosity. Amen.

For Hope
Father, thank You for hope. Thank You for its light in the darkness. Thank You that no matter how dark the night, You are with me. My situation and circumstances may look dark, but I know You not only go before me, but You also walk with me. As I pray, please fill me with even more hope. I trust You, God, even in the midst of this seemingly hopeless season. I know my hope is in You and that the victory is already Yours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

For Strength and Confidence
Gracious God, only source of life and health: Help, comfort, and relieve me, and give your power of healing to those who minister to my needs; that my weakness may be turned to strength and confidence in your loving care; for the sake of Jesus Christ. Amen.

For Help That Comforts
Dear God, some days feel too hard. I’m hurting, struggling, fighting fear and worry at every turn. But in the midst of it all, you haven’t left me to fend for myself. Forgive me for doubting You are there. Forgive me for thinking you’ve forgotten. Forgive me for believing that I somehow know the better way. You are fully trustworthy. You are all-powerful. You are able. You are Lord over every situation no matter how difficult it may seem. You are Healer and will never waste the grief I carry today. Anything is possible with You. I pray not only for my own grief but also for those who grieve today. I ask for Your comfort to surround those who weep. I pray for the peace of Your presence to cover our minds and thoughts, as you remind us, the enemy can never steal us out of Your hands. Amen.

For Employment
You govern your creation, O God, and bring it to perfection by the work of our hands. Hear the prayers of your people who ask for work that will enhance their human dignity and promote the upbuilding of your kingdom. Enable them to provide for those confided to their care either by family ties or by charity we owe to one another for the betterment of human life. We ask this blessing in the name of Jesus who labored with his own hands while he lived on earth. Amen.

Healing Prayer of Surrender
Dear Lord, it is my will to surrender to you everything that I am and everything that I'm striving to be. I open the deepest recesses of my heart and invite Your Holy Spirit to dwell inside of me. I offer you my life, heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit. I surrender to you my past, present, and future problems. I ask You to take hold over every aspect of my life. I surrender to You all my hurt, pain, worry, doubt, fear, and anxiety, and I ask You to wash me clean. I release everything into Your compassionate care.

Please speak to me clearly, Lord. Open my ears to hear Your voice. Open my heart to commune with You more deeply. I want to feel Your loving embrace. Open the doors that need to be opened and close the doors that need to be closed. Please set my feet upon the straight and narrow road that leads to everlasting life. Amen.

For the Trials of Life

For Mercy and Direction
Mighty God, I come to You with a seemingly hopeless situation. I need help, fast! Point out to me the road to follow, for You are the God who saves me. I put my hope in You. Remember me in the light of Your compassion and unfailing love. Turn to me and have mercy, for I am in deep distress. My problems go from bad to worse; save me from them all. Thank You, blessed Savior. Amen.
